THE CAMP TO WITNESS THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
Entim is designed to give you the friendliest, most intimate, luxury safari camp experience and the best wildlife safari in the Masai Mara. Our prime location along the Mara River is unrivalled for seeing and photographing animals all year around, but particularly to observe the greatest wildlife show on earth; over a million wildebeest, zebra and antelopes migrating from the Serengeti into the Masai Mara (July-October).
“Entim Camp location is amazing - we witnessed a migration crossing right outside our tent!” Trip Advisor Review
You may not realise how rare it is to witness a migration river crossing, because the wildebeest can hesitate on the riverbank for days before taking the leap! But since Entim’s main wing overlooks the Mara river while the private wing has an intimate bush setting with both in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, we see migration crossings from within camp. Our guests get up close to the action and other top animal sightings as and when they happen, without other tourist traffic around. Entim guests are usually first on the scene. We don't have rush out of the reserve before gates close at 6.30pm, or drive for hours to get to wildlife action, because Entim is in the middle of it all!
All 12 new guest tents raised on deck overlook the Mara River and are well-placed. The new ensuite bathrooms are furnished with exclusive linen and guest amenities. The lounge area has a bar and is furnished with table books for reading pleasure . The dining area is open-fronted allowing guests the unmatched experience of eating meals while watching the animals move to and from the river to drink and forage for their food. The camp has been designed to give guests the feel that it is part of the landscape. The experience at Entim is not your average hotel or lodge experience: it's about being right in the hub of one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world and part of a quintessential Kenya Safari Experience.
Sit on your veranda and look over the Mara River at one of Africa’s greatest stretches of savanna, with the Rift Valley escarpment in the distance. You may even be lucky enough to see migrating wildebeest gather on the riverbanks close to camp and begin their migration into the Masai Mara. You will certainly hear the sounds of hippos, hyenas and lions from your bed at night. These wild animals are very closeby, so our red-robed Maasai warriors escort you to your room after dinner and drinks around the camp fire, where you’ll find a hot water bottle warming the bed.
“Perfect location, wonderful service, great accommodation and a heartfelt welcome by very friendly staff”. ~ Trip Advisor ~
The Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is one of the world’s most venerated game reserves, because once you’ve seen its big skies, rolling savanna, great herds of animals and variety of birdlife, you’ll never forget it. At Entim we make sure that becomes a truth because our experienced Maasai driver-guides have grown up around here and possess an innate ability and instinctive talent to read nature’s signs as if it were an open book. Each day there is something extraordinary to see and our guides will reveal it to you. They are particularly skilled at providing great photo opportunities, for entertaining children with bush lore and for sharing wisdoms about their extraordinary way of life..
According to custom, grazing cattle is the God given right of Maasai and their cows provide most sustenance needed by a Maasai family. Farming is considered a foolish, back-breaking way to scrape a living! The Maasai lifestyle is completely at odds with western practices, but there are many insights to be gained. Ask your guide to take you to his Maasai homestead –you can book this excursion while in camp.
